Hours. That’s the amount of time it took for someone to ask me which trail (Appalachian and Pacific Crest) I liked better and which was harder upon finishing my Pacific Crest Trail thru-hike. Â It’s not something you can easily explain to someone who’s never done either. Rocks, roots, mud, humidity, ticks, leaches, and mosquitoes are what you’ll find on the [...]

Why I’m Blessed
Most times on Christmas I’m always thinking about what I did or worse DIDN’T get for the holiday. Â Today my mind drifted to not what I did or didn’t receive but to things I have done so far in my life. Â There’s so many people out there who didn’t get anything so it seems so selflish to think about material [...]
Timothy Lake Race Report
This past weekend was my first ever running race. Â Since I was Suzie’s pit crew the weekend before she was mine this time around. Â We left Saturday morning with stops at Ikea and Dabney State Park in Troutdale, OR for some disc golf. By the time we got to Oak Forks Campground it was too late to get a run [...]
My goals for 2010 and beyond
My original plan for 2010 was as my Superfeet video said, a solo 24 hour mountain bike race, a 100 mile mountain bike race, various other mountain bike races, hikes, and circumnavigating Mt. Hood by MTB. Â Due to major cut backs I’ve had to switch gears. Â I’ll get a few mtb races in but not the solo or 100 mile [...]
First Running Race Ever, 6/7
My first race ever will be the Timberline Half Marathon in Oregon. It takes place on June 6th, 2010 and is one lap around Timothy Lake not too far south of Mt. Hood. I actually hiked around a third of the lake during my PCT hike. I hope this helps during the race. From what I recall it’s not very [...]
Stevens to Snoqualmie Pass 2005
Even though this is an old trail report I wanted it here on my post as a reference for you the reader. I started on a Friday night around 6:30 pm, Labor Day Weekend. My first goal was to reach Trap Pass, 13 miles in to my hike. I arrived at Trap Pass around 10:30 PM and was asleep by [...]
The Border
Today was the day! Today I finished. 125 days from the day I left Mexico to reach Canada. 2655 miles give or take. I didn’t know what to think or feel at this moment. Lucky for me I got to share it with my dad.
Northern Cascades
Wow, it was cold last night! Today was my last full day of hiking and a lot of it looked like this. I cruised along and the miles just flew by. It was a emotional day.
Glacier in the Distances
This day was so different from yesterday. The forest and landscape was dry and arid while yesterday it was so much. The beauty of the land was incredible but I also did tons of traversing along valleys so I could see forever.
Approaching Raining Pass
A short 19 miles today. The weather looked like rain all day but didn’t come until after lunch. The views were not what they had been in days past.
